Macias PR was founded in 2009 by Mark Macias – a former print and television journalist. During his time with NBC and CBS, Macias was nominated for five Emmys in the categories: News & Public Affairs; Business & Consumer; Features; Religious Programming; and Documentary Programming. He won an Emmy in the News & Public Affairs category.
Macias brings a rare media insider perspective when it comes to public relations. As Executive Producer with WNBC, Macias approved all of the scripts and story ideas from reporters, producers and publicists in the Special Projects unit, which consisted of consumer, medical, health, features, tech and financial topics. He also assisted with the media strategy for every local newscast on WNBC – Today in New York, 5pm, 6pm and 11pm. WNBC was the #1 TV station in New York during his entire tenure as Executive Producer.
“We apply this same media strategy with all of our clients,” Macias said in an interview with Financial Newswires. “We begin every media campaign by identifying the strongest narrative that needed for coverage, then we apply an aggressive front when it comes to getting this story in front of reporters. With big news stories, we would throw multiple reporters at one story to identify different angles. With Macias PR, we apply these same tactics. We throw multiple team members at every media launch, making sure our stories get in front of the right reporters and producers.
Macias was also Executive Producer of a national NBC business show, Hispanics Today. As Executive Producer, Macias led the editorial direction for the weekly TV program, identifying interesting enterprise ideas and news topics that would keep entrepreneurs on top of the latest business trends.
Macias PR has run media and crisis campaigns for a diverse group of sectors, including financial, tech start-ups, nonprofits, Internet retailers and service providers in legal, compliance, cyber security and others. The PR firm has secured stories for these clients in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, Good Morning America, The Today Show, CNN, Bloomberg and others.
